10 July 2025 : D.E.S.’s New English Medium School, Shaniwar Peth, celebrated Guru Purnima — also known as Vyasa Purnima — with heartfelt devotion and cultural splendour. The celebration began with a traditional welcome of the Headmistress and parent representatives, followed by floral tributes to Goddess Saraswati and Sage Vyasa. Students showcased a range of cultural performances including dances, musical acts, and dramatic presentations portraying legendary guru-shishya pairs like Bhagat Singh–Kartar Singh, Krishna–Arjuna, and Dronacharya–Ekalavya.
Guided by their art teachers, students created eco-friendly paper flowers embedded with seed balls, gifted to parent representatives as a symbol of growth and sustainability. To honour the concept of the mother as the first guru, younger students made floral garlands to offer to their mothers at home.
Grades 3 and 4 engaged in poetry, songs, and skits, all themed around the value of the guru. Parents appreciated the school’s continuous efforts to uphold cultural values. Mr. Piyush Shah from the Sainath Mandal Trust felicitated teachers and extended his greetings. The event was thoughtfully planned by teachers of Grades 5 to 7 under the guidance of Headmistress Smt. Hemangi Deshmukh.
