A special lecture on 'Healthy Nutrition: The Mealtime Makeover' was organized for parents of all three sections at the Deccan Education Society's New English Medium School today, on 10th September 2026.

 The renowned Vaidya Meghana Bakre (MD in Ayurveda) was present as the chief speaker and guide for the program.

The entire program was planned by Ms. Rohini Marathe. The program began with the recitation of the Panchakosha Shloka, presented by Mrs. Shraddha Ranjekar. Mrs. Rohini Marathe compered the program and introduced the guest.

Vaidya Meghana Bakre guided the parents on the topic 'The Mealtime Makeover'. Through a PPT presentation, she explained in very simple language how 'Metabolism' works in the human body.

She interacted with the parents on the following key points:

Comparative Diet: She explained with various examples how essential it is to give sprouted pulses, fruits, dry fruits and nutritious home-cooked food instead of junk food in children's tiffins.

Meal Timings: She emphasized the importance of how food taken at the right time proves to be nutritious for the body.

At the end of the session, she addressed the queries of the audience and shared some simple and home-based Ayurvedic tips for a healthy lifestyle.

Principal of the Primary Section, Smt. Hemangi Deshmukh, and of the Pre-Primary Section, Smt. Shilpa Kulkarni, were present for the program. Mrs. Neerja Belasare proposed the vote of thanks.
