21 June 2025 : Deccan Education Society’s N.E.M.S. School, located in Shaniwar Peth, Pune, celebrated International Yoga Day and World Music Day with great enthusiasm in both morning and afternoon sessions. The chief guests for the Yoga Day celebration were Kasba Constituency MLA Mr. Hemant Rasane, Yoga Expert Dr. Vidula Shende, and Mr. Vikrant Rajwade, Joint Secretary of Yoga Institute, Pune. The event was also graced by the school’s Secondary Section Headmaster Mr. Pritam Joshi, Primary Section Headmistress Mrs. Hemangi Deshmukh, along with all teaching and non-teaching staff. 

During his address, Mr. Hemant Rasane emphasized the importance of yoga and cleanliness, calling them essential paths toward development. He also advised students that no matter which field they choose, they should strive for excellence through hard work. Dr. Vidula Shende guided students through various types of Pranayama, including Kapalbhati, Anulom-Vilom, Bhastrika, and Bhramari. MLA Mr. Rasane, along with all headmasters, actively participated in performing yoga asanas with the students. 

On the occasion of World Music Day, students of Class 7 from both sessions performed a song titled “Hasari Shatvarshe Jayagaan”, which highlighted the importance of a balanced diet and exercise. The students were trained and guided by music teacher Ms. Ashwini Patwardhan. The event began with an introduction and concluded with a vote of thanks. The overall compering and coordination were managed by the school’s sports teachers, Mr. Pramod Ukirde and Mr. Devidas Wakale.
