Pune, August 27: The Bhagavad Gita has inspired internationally renowned scientists such as American physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer and former President of India and eminent scientist Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. Every Indian should incorporate the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita into their daily life, appealed Shri Shirish Bhedasgavkar, All-India Head of the Bhagavad Gita Education Department of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), on the occasion of Sanskrit Day.

The ‘Sanskrit Shruti Pustakam’, a Sanskrit audio book prepared by the New English Medium School, Shaniwar Peth, Pune, under the aegis of the Deccan Education Society, was released today by Shri Shirish Bhedasgavkar on the occasion of Shravan Purnima, celebrated as Sanskrit Day.

The innovative initiative ‘Sanskrit Shruti Pustakam’ has been created with the objective of making Sanskrit easier for students to listen to, understand, and learn. It also aims to help students hear and develop correct pronunciation of Sanskrit words and cultivate an interest in this rich and ancient language.

Based on the concept of “Listen – Understand – Learn and Befriend Sanskrit,” the audio book includes Bodhkatha (moral stories), Subhashita Manjari, Gita Manjari, Shabda Manjari, as well as a BTS (Behind the Scenes) section offering an overview of the process involved in creating the project.

The students themselves recorded various Sanskrit literary pieces in their own voices. The audio book was created through several stages, including reading, pronunciation practice, audio recording, editing, and presentation. This student-driven initiative is an innovative step that combines Sanskrit education with modern technology.

On this occasion, students who achieved success in the school-level scholarship examination were felicitated by the chief guest.

The programme was attended by Amit Kulkarni, Chairman of the School Committee; Shri Vivek Mathkari, chairman, finance committee , DES, member, Council and Governing body, DES, Hemangi Deshmukh, Principal; teachers, students, and parents.
